there's this guy i'm friending for "reasons" and now he's also here with us

I'm not sure friendship is that transient of a property, but alright. I appreciate the understanding.

dunno how cain's really taking it
he definitely was not in favor of the friendship route initially
even if none of this is real and hideki's just a target for the greater good of the displaced, or whatever
it's nice to have a friend like him
[prompto treading waters here; his heart is too involved. but, in any case, he does like feeling needed and wanted around.]

If you're trying to be his friend, that makes it real.
Maybe the beginning wasn't so genuine, but that doesn't mean it has to continue that way. Maybe he needs someone, a friend, to tell him to pick up after himself and actually pitch in with the relief effort instead of sitting back and getting high.
You could be honest with him now that he values your opinion.
