[Even now Abel knows Cain probably isn't one to opt for befriending a ridiculous party boy who loved forced cuddling, he probably wanted to do something a little more straightforward.]
[At least, Abel wants to believe that after what happened between them, Cain wasn't eager to do it again.]
If you're trying to be his friend, that makes it real. Maybe the beginning wasn't so genuine, but that doesn't mean it has to continue that way. Maybe he needs someone, a friend, to tell him to pick up after himself and actually pitch in with the relief effort instead of sitting back and getting high. You could be honest with him now that he values your opinion.
cain and i are both on a spy mission to befriend hideki and get to his parents through him particularly his mom i think was the end game of this whole thing
his family's pretty influential back in new amsterdam
so you see! i can't get super attached neither of us can
anyway is cool since you hang out a lot with cain thought it'd be fair that you know what is the haps you could help us if you liked! though i know you already got a lot on your plate
oh lol oops he just slipped into a ditch shiva's tits this guy is gonna get a concussion before the end of the day
No, I think I should stay out of it. Even if Hideki is fine with me helping myself to his alcohol, I don't want to push my luck or his goodwill. Or distract Cain.
Maybe get him out of the snow before he cracks his skull...
[he's texting all this while helping to pull hideki out of the snow; there's much laughter and cursing happening, because it was, in fact, pretty fucking funny.]
Technically Earth, but the last thing I remember I was in space, yes.
[Look just because he's livid with Cain right now doesn't mean he should take it out on poor Prompto. He should at least make an effort to not sound like he's about to throttle his Fighter.]
going to space sounds so cool i'm from a planet called eos
it's not too different from earth except that we got like magic and different fauna and six gods who make it their business to know what's happening once in a while
[Look Abel can teleport spaceships with his feelings, there is a lot he accepts he doesn't quite understand.]
I can't really agree with the idea that there's a god that dictates what happens to me and the people around me, we all make choices after all. 'The Devil Made Me Do It' isn't a viable excuse.
Not that your friend is crazy. I know of people who hear voices as well, translate vibrations from a piece of technology that transmits signals across galaxies. They're not quite divine though, they're more... angry righteousness.
they're pretty real! we've fought a few and one nearly drowned us in the sea as the king he's supposed to get their favor in order to fulfill a uh prophecy
[well, okay, remembering the prophecy is depressing stuff.]
not that they're actively granting miracles or anything
I never said they weren't real, what the women at MOTHER hear is just as real as what we're doing right now.
Does he get their favor by fighting them, though? It seems like a better idea to just talk things out and reach an agreement, it might last longer than just the lifespan of one king.
[This sounds like one of those 'tradition' things.]
Alright... interesting system, but everyone's universe seems vastly different for good reasons.
It's a thing, yes. The Colterons, the alien people who came to Mars and started attacking the colonies, we recovered some of their technology and were doing research on it when we realized it had an interesting property: women with children were able to feel and hear the overwhelming righteous rage coming into this device from across lightyears of space. They were able to hear and interpret the emotions that were coming from the device, so a coalition of these women formed MOTHER-- probably our most important information-gathering arm in the war.
everyone's universe seems really complicated by what you're telling me i'm sure all this makes a lot more sense with context but right now it all seems really fantastical you know?

[Cain and Abel came back from that supply run all warmth and none of the previous awkward, so that could be a massive understatement there.]
Are you sure about that? You both seem a little annoyed when he drags either of you into his clutches.
no subject
it's mostly just for show i guess
on my part anyway
dunno how cain's really taking it
he definitely was not in favor of the friendship route initially
even if none of this is real and hideki's just a target for the greater good of the displaced, or whatever
it's nice to have a friend like him
[prompto treading waters here; his heart is too involved. but, in any case, he does like feeling needed and wanted around.]

how much did cain tell you about hideki?
no subject
We were sorting some other things out.
I didn't really ask...
no subject
it's okay! well, guess i can tell you so long as you don't act all weird about it
can you keep a secret?
no subject
Weird about what?
I mean, sure, I'm pretty sure I can.

I won't tell anyone else.
Maybe we shouldn't discuss this anymore, I don't know how secure this network is.

anyway, what's MOTHER? it's a thing cuz it's in all caps right?
[he doesn't want to talk about the astrals anymore, he jumped right into a sore spot without thinking about it.]

do you mind a question on what space is like?
no subject
Not at all, ask me anything.
no subject
can you hear sound there??
technology in eos never aimed for space so we only got hypotheticals
